Last week, to commemorate the very successful year, Roundtable members welcomed participants and officials to celebrations in Beijing and Shanghai. The networking events gave ANSI members and Roundtable participants an opportunity to reinforce the relationships that the issue-focused events helped to foster throughout 2011.
Attendees at the Beijing celebration included Roundtable supporters from the PRC government, such as the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA), the General Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quality (AQSIQ), and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). In addition, the president of the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), Wang Zhongmin, and representatives from the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), China Association for Standardization (CAS), and China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) joined the celebration after supporting Roundtable activities throughout the year.
Participants at the celebration in Shanghai included officials from the Shanghai branch of China Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ), the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau (TSB), and the Shanghai Association of Standardization (SAS).
The year-end meetings build upon the dialogue established through senior ANSI leadership meetings with Chinese officials [see related news item], and reinforce working relationships between ANSI, its members and constituents, and Chinese government and industry.
