New Mobile Compatible Version of the ANSI Webstore Launched

8/27/2014
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce that an updated version of its eStandards Store (eSS) featuring improved compatibility with smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices is now available for use. ANSI's updated webstore is believed to be the first genuinely mobile-ready online standards store, optimized to allow users of mobile devices to browse, search for, and purchase standards online with the greatest of ease.

As mobile devices increasingly play a large role in business environments, standards webstores and other e-commerce sites are being judged on whether they provide tablet and smartphone users with an effective, well-designed experience. The mobile-compatible version of ANSI's webstore meets that challenge, allowing mobile users to easily and quickly navigate the site without the visual awkwardness that affects many sites not designed with mobile in mind.

"The ANSI eStandards Store has long been a leader when it comes to the online sales of important voluntary consensus standards, providing access to documents from the International Organization for Standardization, the International Electrotechnical Commission, and many other significant standards developing organizations in the United States and around the world," said S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. "Now this new optimized version of the webstore will help to ensure that the full benefits of the site are available to users of mobile devices."
