Reminder: ANSI-Accredited SDOs and U.S. TAG Administrators Must Complete Compliance Survey by March 31

New York, Mar 10, 2008

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) wishes to remind all ANSI-Accredited Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs) and ANSI-Accredited U.S. TAG Administrators to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that online compliance surveys must be completed by March 31, 2008.

“By seeking and maintaining ANSI-accredited status, an organization chooses to publicly commit to an open, equitable, and accessible consensus process that ensures due process and benefits the public interest,” explained Lane Hallenbeck, ANSI vice president of accreditation services. “The 2008 Compliance Form online survey is designed to facilitate the annual compliance notification process.”

ANSI-Accredited Standards Developers are asked to review the revised 2008 edition of the ANSI Essential Requirements: Due process requirements for American National Standards and complete the 2008 ANSI Procedural Compliance Form online survey. A summary of the new revisions is available here, and a version of the file with all revisions displayed can be downloaded here. [see related article]

ANSI-Accredited U.S. TAG Administrators are asked to review the revised 2008 edition of the ANSI Procedures for U.S. Participation in the International Standards Activities of ISO (ANSI International Procedures) and submit the 2008 ANSI Procedural Compliance Form online survey. Both SDOs and TAG Administrators may submit revised procedures for re-accreditation to the ANSI PSA department (psa@ansi.org). Revised procedures are to be submitted in strike-through and underline format with an explanation of all changes.

Questions about the survey, the ANSI Essential Requirements, or the ANSI International Procedures may be sent to the PSA department (psa@ansi.org).
