IEC Launches IEC Basecamp, an Online Resource Library

3/01/2017

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the international standards and conformity assessment body for all fields of electrotechnology, has launched an online central library that features key IEC resources, including tools, presentations, videos, and media releases.

The IEC Basecamp database and downloadable relevant files are available at http://basecamp.iec.ch/. Additionally, IEC offers its latest e-tech edition, Consumer electronics & multimedia, and a new brochure outlining IEC work for medical devices. The site also features IEC work including a detailed overview of how it contributes to the Internet of Things (IoT).

It also provides a detailed overview of IEC work for rural electrification and universal energy access, including lists of relevant IEC Standards, and IEC and Sustainable Development Goals, and a new IECE brochure highlighting battery chargers and charging stations.

IEC is a nonprofit organization that develops and publishes standards concerning electrical technologies, of which a wide variety exists in today's modern world. Headquartered in Geneva, IEC standards reach over 150 countries.

The U.S. National Committee (USNC) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) represents U.S. interests in IEC standards and conformance activities, and is an integrated committee of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
