ANSI Launches Survey to Outline 2008 Open Forum for Standards Developers

New York, Mar 19, 2008

The American National Standards Institute issued today an invitation for interested stakeholders to help shape the program for the 2008 Open Forum for Standards Developers.

Responses will be used to select the primary discussion topics for this year’s event, as well as the preferred format, date(s), and location.

Since its debut in March 2005, this annual event has addressed a broad spectrum of issues that are directly impacting the standard-setting community.

“Past participants have strongly recommended that ANSI continue to coordinate and host these sessions,” said ANSI president S. Joe Bhatia. “Our primary purpose will be information sharing and dialogue to promote cooperation, collaboration, harmonization and collective solution development.”

The 2008 event will again be open to all stakeholders, including representatives of consortia and other forums, traditional standards developers, industry, government, consumers, and other interested parties from any sector.

The survey may be completed through Friday, March 28, 2008. A meeting notice and draft agenda will be posted as soon as possible following the closing date.
