REMINDER: Discount for Early Registration for ANSI Annual Conference Ends September 1, 2003

New York, Aug 22, 2003

Early registrants for the 2003 ANSI Annual Conference will receive a 10% discount on select events. Registration forms must be received before September 1, 2003 (5:00 pm Eastern) to qualify for the discount.

The ANSI Annual Conference, "Homeland Security: Collaboration, Innovation and Standardization," will be held in conjunction with 2003 World Standards Week activities in Washington, DC. The one-day conference will be held on October 1, and calls upon a diverse and highly-talented group of experts to address the cutting-edge security issues facing the nation. Panelists will provide up-to-the-moment insights on projects related to biological and chemical anti-terrorism systems and the prevention of terrorist attacks; reducing vulnerability of critical infrastructure systems such as postal, information technology and telecommunications systems; minimizing damage to built environments; equipment and systems to protect and assist first responders; and much more.

The Annual Conference, ANSI Member Council Meetings, and Annual Awards Banquet and Ceremony will be held at the Marriott at Metro Center. ANSI has reserved a room block at the Marriott for the period of September 28 - October 1, 2003, for a special negotiated “ANSI” rate. Hotel reservations by attendees must be received on or before Monday, September 8, 2003. For reservations at the Marriott, phone 1.800.228.9290 or 1.202.737.2200.

ANSI members and interested parties who plan to attend the World Standards Week 2003 events are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this negotiated room block. October is a very busy month for conferences and conventions in Washington, DC, and a limited number of rooms are available in the downtown area. Please make your reservations as soon as possible in order to guarantee availability.
