People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.

The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) has announced two staff changes following its recent acquisition of the Accreditation Services Bureau, doing business as Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (L-A-B).

Doug Leonard, formerly president and chief operating officer of L-A-B, will become vice president of the combined laboratory-related business for ANAB.

Keith Greenaway is transitioning from vice president to become ANAB’s chief operating officer. In this newly-created role, Mr. Greenaway will oversee the Board’s three strategic accreditation business units: laboratory-related, forensics, and management systems.

ANAB will retain all employees of L-A-B, and they will continue to work in L-A-B’s offices in Fort Wayne, IN.

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has named John Lanier its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Mr. Lanier will oversee public affairs, technical services, regulatory and international policy, and information technology for the Institute. He will manage AHRI’s certification and standards programs.

Mr. Lanier comes to the position as COO of North American Technician Excellence (NATE), and he will continue to lead NATE while expanding his role to become COO of AHRI as well. Previously, he served as the senior vice president of operations at the National Federation of Independent Business.

"John Lanier's expanded role at AHRI will help us meet the many challenges that come with the growth and success we have seen and expect to experience in the coming years," said AHRI president and CEO Stephen Yurek. "I'm excited that he has agreed to take on this challenge, and I look forward to having him apply his many skills and his focus to some of our most important programs."
