ANSI Encourages Stakeholders to Participate in NIST's Energy Sector Asset Management Project

4/02/2018

The U.S. Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks organizations to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for its Energy Sector Asset Management Project. Participation will support the initial phase of the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE), which collaborates with technology companies to address cybersecurity challenges. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages all relevant stakeholders to participate.

NIST, in partnership with the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, MD, established NCCoE in 2012 as a public-private partnership that enables the creation of practical cybersecurity solutions for specific industries or broad, cross-sector technology challenges. The collaborative hub involves the participation of technology partners that include Fortune 50 market leaders and smaller companies that specialize in IT security. With expertise support, NCCoE develops modular, easily adaptable examples of cybersecurity solutions that demonstrate how to apply standards and best practices using commercially available technology.

NCCoE will collaborate with technology companies on given cybersecurity challenges that are identified under the Energy Sector Asset Management Project.

Interested stakeholders can access more details and contact information for participation in the March 26 Federal Register Notice.
