Save the Date: ISO/IEC Standards and Policy Conference and Training

November 2-3 Event in Geneva

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) will host a full-day conference followed by a half-day training course on “Using and referencing ISO and IEC standards to support public policy.” The events will be held November 2-3, 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland, in an effort to connect national and international policymakers with the standards development community.

As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites all interested stakeholders to consider attending the event, and to read more about the relationship between ISO and IEC standards and public policy.

The conference and training course are the latest examples of continuing efforts by ISO and IEC to help policy makers understand the benefits of standards. [see related article] The organizations published a brochure in early 2015 focused on the same topic.

The conference will be held at the Palais des Nations with UNECE as the host. The training course will be held at ISO Central Secretariat.
