The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) in August 2019 selected the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to implement the U.S.-Indo-Pacific Standards and Technology Cooperation Program (STCP). The program is designed to convene government officials and industry representatives from the U.S. and Indo-Pacific region to share important commercial and industrial standards information and practices. It is designed to assure that decision-makers develop and implement standards, testing protocols, and regulatory procedures that align with international best practices.
ANSI will coordinate 12 technical workshops in the Indo-Pacific region during the program's three-year duration. The workshops will cover a range of technology-related subjects, including smart grid, transportation, energy storage, smart cities, cybersecurity, medical devices, and more. ANSI will coordinate with the USTDA, U.S. industry, and host country entities to prioritize and develop workshop topics.
In order to maximize U.S. industry engagement, ANSI is planning to schedule an informational conference call on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 13:00 (ET) to provide an overview of the program and to answer any questions from ANSI members. USTDA representatives will join the call.
