Upcoming AAMI Webinar to Discuss Certification and HTM
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, will hold a webinar on the importance of certification in the healthcare technology management (HTM) profession.
"Bolstering the Perception of the HTM Field and How You Can Help" will outline why certification matters for the continued professionalism of HTM, and provide solutions for getting technicians certified. Listeners will also hear about the adoption of the "HTM" name, the benefit of consistent use of the name throughout the field, and how to change department names within a healthcare organization to use "HTM."

ASME Webinar to Review the Gap between Simulation and Test
ASME, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has announced that it will hold a webinar next month on the potential difference between simulations and physical tests.
"How Realistic is Your Simulation? Bridging the Gap Between Simulation and Test" will discuss:

UL, an ANSI member and audited designator, has posted a podcast providing tips and resources on mitigating cyber risks for small and mid-sized plants.
"How to Build an Integrated Cybersecurity Program" explains how plants must commit the necessary resources for their network protection, including both manpower and capital. Listeners will hear from Ken Modeste, director of Connected Technologies at UL's Commercial and Industrial Business Unit, who speaks about the three primary factors that operations should consider when developing an integrated cybersecurity program.

IEEE Video Demonstrates How Robots Improve Health
IEEE, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has released a new video on how robots are improving our health.
The video depicts a robot that can be used in home or healthcare settings, or in clinics in remote areas that lack medical providers. The robot can provide round-the-clock surveillance for disabled or elderly people to assure their safety, and alert human caretakers or healthcare providers if the person needs assistance, while also dispensing medicines and reminding them to take medicines, and even helping them navigate to the restroom if they have mobility needs.
