ANSI Caucus to Feature House Science Committee Staff

New York, May 19, 2005

On Friday, June 3, 2005, the ANSI Caucus will feature James Turner, a member of the professional staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science for more than 25 years. He currently serves the full Committee as the Chief Democratic Counsel where he works across the board on the Committee’s legislative agenda.

During his many years on the Committee, Mr. Turner has worked on numerous bills, reports, and hearings on a wide variety of topics. These include the international competitiveness of U.S. industry, environmental and energy research and development, trade and technology policy, intellectual property, standards, and technology transfer.

Among the topics Mr. Turner will address are the future of standards policy, the history behind the National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act (NTTAA), and some issues currently of concern to the Science Committee members. He will also give ANSI Caucus attendees the opportunity to ask questions.
