New York, Mar 04, 2011

People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), an organizational member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has appointed Kimberly Hurley as director of conferences and training. She will oversee the annual ACCA Conference and the association’s other events and education programs, including the annual Contracting Week activities and the ComfortU online training portal.

Ms. Hurley previously served as senior director of marketing and events for West Coast Life Insurance Company, and as community and marketing manager for Consumer Credit Counseling Service. She was also a freelance meetings consultant in the Washington, DC, area.

ACCA is a non-profit association serving more than 60,000 professionals and 4,000 businesses in the indoor environmental and energy services community across the United States. ACCA sets standards for quality comfort systems and provides education and advocacy for contractors and their employees.

AdvaMedDx, a division of ANSI organizational member the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), has named Tharini Sathiamoorthy as its new associate vice president.

Ms. Sathiamoorthy brings to AdvaMedDx extensive experience in public and government affairs and health policy analysis. Most recently she served as a senior associate in the health policy practice at APCO Worldwide. Her work there included federal policy outreach and analysis and stakeholder development for a broad range of clients, including medical device and diagnostics manufacturers.

Prior to APCO, Ms. Sathiamoorthy managed Medicare and Medicaid projects for the Lewin Group and the Marwood Group. Earlier in her career she coordinated government affairs and health policy activities for the American College of Physicians, and was a legislative analyst for Dean Blakey & Moskowitz.

AdvaMedDx is a trade association for companies that discover, develop, and manufacture diagnostic technologies. AdvaMedDx supports its members in their work to produce innovative in vitro diagnostic tests that facilitate evidence-based medicine, improve quality of patient care, promote wellness, enable early detection of disease, and reduce overall health care costs.
