ANSI's Vice President of Accreditation Services to Join Panel at Supply Chain Digital Transformation Conference

11/14/2016

The American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) Lane Hallenbeck, vice president of accreditation services, will be a panelist at the Supply Chain Digital Transformation Conference on Friday, November 18, 2016, in Los Angeles. The conference is intended to demonstrate thought leadership through the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and networking on topics and themes related to digital innovation in supply chain.

Supply Chain Digital Transformation, an event hosted by the USC Marshall Center for Global Supply Chain Management, is a forum for stakeholders from industry, public policy, and academia and innovators to step out of their respective silos to work together on digitizing the supply chain. The event is a result of a joint effort by U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and Nick Vyas, executive director, USC Marshall Center for Global Supply Chain Management, to create a platform for collaboration.

Mr. Hallenbeck will join the one-day symposium on November 18, as a panelist at the event, set to feature presentations, panel sessions, networking activities, and exhibition. In addition, he will join the related 24-hour hackathon on November 19-20, which will include teams of start-up and student developers to create new applications and solutions aimed to inspire, empower, and enable development of new solutions and approaches to existing challenges in the industry, with cash prizes.

At ANSI, Mr. Hallenbeck has primary responsibility for the direction and development of ANSI's accreditation programs. These include the accreditation of standards development organizations and their associated American National Standards, as well as the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies that certify products, personnel, training certificates, and, in alliance with the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), management systems, among other scopes.

ANSI Accreditation provides assurance that standards, goods, and services meet essential requirements throughout the global supply chain - engendering consumer trust and fostering competitiveness. Increasingly, procurement authorities, government agencies, and program/scheme owners are specifying accreditation in order to demonstrate the technical competence and impartiality of conformance services and processes. These assessments enhance confidence between buyers and sellers as they mitigate risk.
