Search Continues for New ISO Secretary-General

Deadline Approaches July 15th

New York, Jun 14, 2002

In pursuit of its mission to identify eligible candidates to fill the post of Secretary-General, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has advised its member bodies, including ANSI, of revised selection criteria. ISO has asked its members to assist in the selection process and submit applications for the position by July 15, 2002.

Prepared by Egon Zehneder International, a Geneva-based executive search firm engaged to aid the recruitment process, the modified criteria details the qualifications and ideal profile for the position. In addition, the candidate's preferred personal characteristics, language skills and education are also included as well as the compensation package.

The post of Secretary-General has been vacant since March 21, 2002 due to the sudden death of Dr. Lawrence D. Eicher. ISO president, Mario Cortopassi, issued a call for nominations in May with a letter to the chief executive officer of its member organizations.
