People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has appointed Brian C. Francois as its new executive vice president. Mr. Francois assumes this position on April 2, 2018, following the retirement of Jack Daniels.

Prior to joining AATCC, Mr. Francois was the CEO of Pulcra Chemicals Group, where he has worked since 1992. During his tenure there he held a series of leadership positions, including business director - textile technology, president - U.S. business, and vice president - Americas. He brings extensive knowledge of the consumer apparel end-use market and global textile industry, and has considerable experience in expanding businesses into new geographical areas.

Mr. Francois has been an active member of AATCC for over 25 years, serving for several years as chair of the Committee on Conferences, and chair of the Olney Awards Committee. He was also a member of the Wet Processing Machinery Committee, the Preparation Test Methods Committee, and the Awards Oversight Committee.

The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has announced the appointment of Carroll Gray-Preston as principal technologist. In this role, Ms. Gray-Preston will lead a new Internet of Things (IoT) initiative to examine the multidimensional landscape of IoT across devices, applications, subscription type, technology, regulatory, and market drivers. She will also oversee the ATIS network function virtualization (NFV) initiative and contribute to the development of ATIS's Innovation Agenda priorities.

Ms. Gray-Preston has over 22 years of experience in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Previously, she was the vice president of strategic operations and customer success at GENBAND (Nortel Networks). She is experienced in Agile methodologies, platform and product strategy, cultural change, and critical launch strategies. She also holds patents in the areas of multimedia services and IP interconnect.

"Carroll's strengths as an R&D leader, system architect, and strategic planner coupled with her business acumen and track record will be a true asset in advancing ATIS's member-driven initiatives," said ATIS president and CEO Susan Miller.
