Register Today for ANSI’s December Workshop on Personnel Certification Accreditation

New York, Nov 05, 2009

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to encourage all interested stakeholders to register for an upcoming workshop on personnel certification accreditation.

Part of ANSI’s continuing effort to promote education in the standards and conformity assessment community, Personnel Certification Accreditation Workshop: Understanding the Requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 (course #627) will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, December 3, and Friday, December 4, at ANSI’s headquarters in Washington, DC.

The workshop is ideal for representatives of corporations, organizations, government agencies, and others who either operate personnel certification programs or who wish to learn more about the ANSI accreditation process.

Through presentations, small group discussions, and exercises, attendees will:

  • review the requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024, General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons

  • identify what content (including types of documents and data) may be helpful in demonstrating compliance with each requirement and how this content will be reviewed during an audit

  • define terminology and identify documents, best practices, and other resources that can be helpful in building an understanding of the standard

  • become familiar with the ANSI accreditation process and its reliance on not only ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024, but also ISO/IEC 17011, Conformity assessment — General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies

Participants will be provided with the assistance they need to initiate a self-assessment process that will identify strengths, as well as possible gaps, in policies and procedures.

Advance registration is required for this course, which is $795 for ANSI members and $895 for non-members.
