Sessions for International Secretariats, U.S. TAG Administrators, and International Delegates

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released its 2016 schedule for two courses that fulfill the training requirement affecting all ANSI-delegated International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Secretariats, as well as all ANSI-Accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) Administrators to ISO [see related news item].

ANSI reminds all TAG Administrators and delegated Secretariat staff serving as the official ANSI contact who have not taken the courses offered by ANSI during the previous three years to register for instructor-led webinars covering procedural issues including a review of the ANSI International Procedures. Other TAG administrators and delegated Secretariat staff are required to take part in an update course, which includes a review of current issues. Going forward, annual update sessions will be required for all ANSI-Accredited U.S. TAG Administrators and Secretariats. The training requirement does not apply to TAG members.

The courses are intended to bolster the effectiveness of U.S. participation in international standardization activities, and are offered free of charge to the following eligible constituents:

  • Officers of U.S. TAGs

  • Delegates to ISO Technical Committee (TC) or Subcommittee (SC) meetings

  • Secretariats of an ISO TC or SC

  • U.S. TAG Administrators for an ISO TC or SC
