JSMO belongs to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) through the IEC National Committee of Jordan. The MoU reflects the essential connection between standards, conformance and trade, and seeks to establish future areas of cooperation between the two organizations. According to the Census.gov website, U.S. exports to Jordan have been on the rise in recent years, reaching $1.4 billion in 2011, an increase of 123.5% since 2006.
