People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that Carolyn Lee is its new executive director. Ms. Lee will lead the association's initiatives on workforce development, skills certification, and veteran training and hiring.

Ms. Lee has been the senior director of tax policy at NAM for nearly six years, and has extensive leadership experience in private, nonprofit, and government organizations. Prior to joining NAM, she held roles as the director of legislative and government affairs for ANSI member the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), manager of state and federal government affairs for 3M Company, and various positions on Capitol Hill.

"Carolyn has built a proven track record of leading positive change, advancing key initiatives in the face of significant challenges and bringing people together, from all sides, to make headway on the work that must be done for manufacturers and the people of our nation," said NAM president and CEO Jay Timmons. "Carolyn is a respected and trusted leader of the NAM, and we look forward to seeing her take the Institute to the next level."

The International Code Council (ICC), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has appointed Whitney Doll as director of communications. Ms. Doll will oversee the organization's communications initiatives and media relations programs, and will work to strengthen the ICC brand.

Previously, Ms. Doll was the senior communications specialist at CNA, where she managed the organization's media relations, social media, and external website. She has also served as communications and events manager for Community of Hope, overseeing all aspects of the housing and healthcare nonprofit's communications plan.

"I'm delighted to welcome Whitney to the team. Her communications expertise will be an asset to ICC as we look to raise the profile of the association and our membership," said International Code Council chief executive officer Dominic Sims. "The growth of our external relations program will help us in our mission to provide the highest quality codes and standards for creating safe and resilient buildings and communities."
