People on the Move

Robert J. Ratliff has been named the new chairman of The Manufacturing Institute, the research and education arm of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), an ANSI organizational member. Mr. Ratliff will serve a two-year term leading the Institute in research initiatives that will provide insight into manufacturing topics ranging from the global competitiveness of North American manufacturers to the growing use of cutting-edge nanotechnology.

Mr. Ratliff’s more than 46 years of experience in the truck, tire, and farm equipment industries includes serving as a director and member of the executive committee of NAM, vice chairman for NAM’s Southeastern region, and as an honorary director of ANSI organizational member the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).

Mr. Ratliff is retired chairman, president, and chief executive officer of AGCO Corporation, a company which he founded in 1990 that manufactures and distributes agricultural equipment. He also serves as chairman of the newly formed Republic Bank of Georgia and has most recently been named president of M International, LLC, an energy research company focused on developing new energy sources.

Anna Schmitt-Reichert was recently appointed director of corporate communications with ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer NSF International. In this capacity, Ms. Schmitt-Reichert will oversee a broad range of NSF International communication initiatives, media relations, and promotional activities.

Ms. Schmitt-Reichert has over 20 years of marketing and public relations experience in education and retail having previously served as development director for Eastern Michigan’s College of Business, and director of global public relations for PAC Project Advisors, Ltd.

NSF International also recently promoted Michelle Rzendzian to business unit manager for NSF’s Center for Public Health Education (CPHE), a resource center providing high caliber training and educational programs in the areas of food safety and water quality.

Prior to joining the NSF team in 2007, Ms. Rzendzian served as a sales and marketing administrator for the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center and as an account manager for Quanta Incorporated.
