People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

Zenita Henderson, vice president of marketing and business development for American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member and accredited standards developer the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), has won the 2019 Women in Technology Award.

Presented by SCTE, its global arm the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE), Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), and Cablefax, the Women in Technology Award recognizes leading women technology professionals who have contributed to the advancement of the cable telecommunications industry and demonstrated outstanding personal and professional growth.

In her role as an executive at SCTE, Ms. Henderson oversees Cable-Tec Expo, the largest cable telecommunications tradeshow in the Americas. She will be presented with the award at the Cable-Tex Expo on October 2, and featured in a special issue of Cablefax.

"Few executives have done more to promote and advance technology initiatives and innovation than Zenita Henderson," said Cablefax publisher Michael Grebb. "Her important work over the years, including her current role at SCTE, has already left a lasting legacy that will only grow as she continues to support and expand the industry's mission."


ASTM International, an ANSI member and audited designator, has announced that Alex Liu, Ph.D., will join the organization as head of additive manufacturing programs for the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, Dr. Liu will curate regional programs for standards development, working closely with Singapore's National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC), one of the center's strategic partners.

Prior to joining ASTM, Dr. Liu was the head of i4.0 Digital Fabrication and Additive Manufacturing Center, where he contributed to developing i4.0 digital manufacturing and a smart factory framework. He also worked with Ultra Clean Technology as manager of additive manufacturing and engineering. Both roles were based in Singapore.

Mr. Liu has a bachelor's degree in mechatronics and robotics automation, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering with a focus on process and materials characterization for metal additive manufacturing.


SES- Society for Standards Professionals, an ANSI member, has appointed Lisa Spellman to its 2019 board of directors, as the education council director. Ms. Spellman is the general-secretary for the Digital Communications in Medicine (DICOM) for the Medical Imaging Technology Association (MITA). In this role, she provides strategic leadership and operations management for DICOM stakeholders worldwide. She is also the SES education committee chair and serves on the rules and procedures and finance committees of the United States National Committee (USNC) to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

"Lisa is a leader who delivers real value to MITA members through her work with DICOM," said Patrick Hope, MITA executive director. "We congratulate her and know she'll bring a wealth of expertise to the entire standards community."
