ANSI Welcomes Stakeholders to World Standards Week 2009

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to welcome members of the standards community to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area for the 2009 World Standards Week series of events. The week of forums, meetings, and ceremonies began today and will continue until October 8.

Today’s events consisted of the ANSI Intellectual Property Rights Policy Committee (IPRPC) meeting, a Joint ANSI International Policy Committee (IPC) IPRPC working lunch, and the ANSI IPC meeting. All gatherings took place at the offices of the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC.

The majority of the remaining events will be held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. These include:

  • ANSI Organizational Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Government Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Consumer Interest Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Company Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Annual Business Meeting Luncheon, 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.
  • U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day 2009, 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. (to be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC)
  • ANSI National Policy Committee Meeting, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (to be held at the Consumer Electronics Association in Arlington, VA)
