People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has hired Micah Edmond as its assistant vice president of industrial base policy. Mr. Edmond will work under Christian Marrone, AIA's vice president of national security and defense industrial base, and will oversee AIA's advocacy and support for suppliers and other stakeholders who carry out work related to the defense industrial base.

Mr. Edmond was the founder and CEO of Edmond & Co., a strategic consulting firm that advised investors in connection with the national security sector. He acted as a military legislative assistant and senior military legislative assistant to U.S. representatives Joseph Wilson and Mike Turner, respectively. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps, working as a special assistant to several high-ranking military officials and as an assistant speechwriter. Mr. Edmond earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from Massachusetts' Williams College, and his master's in government and security studies and MBA from The Johns Hopkins University in Maryland.

AIA is a non-profit organization comprised of aerospace and defense companies, suppliers, and manufacturers. AIA membership includes manufacturers and suppliers of civil, military, and business aircraft, helicopters, space systems, aircraft engines, missiles, materiel and related components, equipment, services, and information technology.


The Air Conditioning Contractors of America, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has hired Christine Cunnick to serve as its director of marketing. Ms. Cunnick will be responsible for leading and developing ACCA's marketing efforts for all of its programs, services, and products.

Before joining ACCA, Ms. Cunnick led marketing campaigns for the National Grocers Association, where she oversaw campaigns aimed at small businesses, among other targeted audiences. She received her bachelor of science degree in marketing from North Carolina's Barton College and her MBA in food marketing from Pennsylvania's St. Joseph's University.

ACCA is a non-profit association serving more than 60,000 professionals and 4,000 businesses in the indoor environmental and energy services community across the United States. ACCA sets standards for quality comfort systems and provides education and advocacy for contractors and their employees.
