The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages relevant stakeholders to register for the U.S. Trade and Development Agency's (USTDA) U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP) phase II workshop in New Delhi, India, to focus on Leveraging Technology for Smart, Safe and Sustainable Buildings and Cities on July 10-11.
ANSI will facilitate the workshop (view the event page), which is part of a series of meetings in India for U.S. and Indian industry and government representatives to discuss standards and conformity assessment practices in three core sectors of U.S.-India trade: clean energy, smart and sustainable cities, and water and sanitation. Phase II is supported by USTDA funding and carried out in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The workshop in New Delhi will provide an overview of smart cities in India, and cover smart technologies and programs that support the built environment, including improving resilience, energy efficiency, and interoperability. Experts representing the U.S. and India's private and public sectors will discuss implementation of high-quality standards and a conformity assessment framework for smart and sustainable cities.

About SCCP Phase II
The U.S. - India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP) Phase II is a comprehensive project to facilitate interaction and engagement between the public and private sectors in the United States and India. SCCP aims to provide information on U.S. and Indian standards and conformance and U.S. technical assistance to facilitate increased U.S.-India trade and investment, encourage greater Indian public and private sector participation in international and regional standards and conformity assessment fora, and support increased cooperative exchange between U.S. and Indian counterpart organizations working to address trade-related issues, at the technical level.
