Ginsberg to Address ANSI Caucus in February

Washington, DC, Jan 20, 2004

Susan Ginsberg, senior policy advisor to the Science and Technology Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is scheduled as the guest speaker at the first meeting of the ANSI Caucus in 2004. The event will be held on Friday, February 6, at the University Club in Washington, DC, and will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Ms. Ginsberg, who previously worked in lobbying/advocacy for the American Physical Society and as an AAAS Congressional Science Fellow on the Hill, will look at the progress made by DHS since it was created nearly a year ago, will discuss what projects are considered high priority currently, and will give some insights into what new efforts and legislative initiatives are on the horizon.

David Karmol, ANSI's vice president for public policy and government affairs, said "The ANSI Caucus keeps members informed on a wide variety of public policy issues and also offers an opportunity to those ANSI members involved in government affairs activities a chance to network, and learn what others are doing related to standards."

The Institute thanks the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for serving as sponsor of the February luncheon.

ANSI Caucus luncheons are held on the first Friday of each month and are free to ANSI members. The event will begin at 11:30 am with general networking, and lunch will be served at 12:00 noon. The University Club is located at 1135 16th Street, between L and M streets.

To RSVP, please contact Jessica Karp (jkarp@ansi.org) by Tuesday, February 3rd.
