7/09/2019

Issue Includes Standardization Reform and Policy Updates

The American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) international policy department has released the 2019 second quarter edition of its ANSI in China Newsletter, a resource for updates on technical activities, policy decisions, trade matters, and other information of interest to ANSI members operating in or interacting with China. The English version of the newsletter is available exclusively to ANSI members. The Chinese version will be made available shortly.

Launched with a more reader-friendly aesthetic, the new issue includes a fresh look and illustration style with clearer content and infographic sections, as well as more data-driven analysis.

The ANSI in China Newsletter in Chinese features content intended for a China-based audience, including ANSI members and partner organizations. Past issues are publicly available. The English version contains content for a U.S.-based audience. The debut edition of the English version, first published in 2015, is publicly available, while all subsequent editions are available to ANSI members only.

Headlines from the English version of the second quarter 2019 edition include:

- Standardization reform updates, including news on newly released draft management measures for mandatory national standards, and the ongoing impacts derived from China's cabinet restructuring

- Special issue on China's standardization efforts in "Belt and Road" countries

- Other policy updates, including the 2019 Certification and Accreditation Work Plan and China's Conformity Assessment System for "RoHS 2.0"

Editorial contributions for upcoming ANSI in China Newsletter editions are accepted for review and possible publication, subject to revision by the editors. Please submit proposed news items, send questions and comments on China's standardization reform, and provide any other newsletter feedback to [email protected].
