ANSI Announces First Set of Workshops under USTDA-Sponsored U.S.-China Standards and Conformity Assessment Cooperation Program

10/14/2013
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is proud to announce details for the upcoming first group of workshops under the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA)'s initiative, the U.S.-China Standards and Conformity Assessment Cooperation Program (U.S.-China SCCP). As announced earlier this year, USTDA designated ANSI to carryout Phase III of the U.S.-China SCCP [see related story]. Under the initiative, ANSI will organize 20 seminars and workshops over the next three years, covering a wide range of sectoral topics related to the standards, conformity assessment programs, and technical regulations that impact U.S. and Chinese industry.

The first three U.S.-China SCCP workshops will take place in China during November. Information regarding each workshop's area of focus, U.S. partner, dates, and location is provided below:

  • Workshop 1: Electrostatic Discharge Standards and Certification: In cooperation with its U.S. partner the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESDA), ANSI will host a workshop on electrostatic discharge standards and certification in Suzhou on November 4-5, 2013.
  • Workshop 2: Exchange on Corrosion Standards: In cooperation with its U.S. partner NACE International - the Corrosion Society, ANSI will host a workshop on corrosion standards in Beijing on November 7, 2013.
  • Workshop 3: Green Data Centers: In cooperation with its U.S. partner the U.S.-China Energy Cooperation Program, ANSI will host a workshop on green data centers in Beijing on November 20, 2013.

These workshops will provide an opportunity for U.S. and Chinese participants to exchange information and cooperate on issues of importance to both sides. Additional information regarding the U.S.-China SCCP, including co-sponsorship of future workshops, is available online.
