USNC Survey Focuses on the “Most Valuable” Needs of its Constituents

Responses requested by March 31, 2004

New York, Feb 11, 2004

The U.S. National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (USNC/IEC) has launched its first-ever online survey targeted toward the identification of informational tools, training programs, and related products and services considered to be "most valuable" by USNC members and constituents.

The U.S. National Committee of the IEC (USNC) Constituents Communications and Education Survey has been developed in response to the USNC’s strategic focus on the development and implementation of improved information delivery systems and participant training programs at all levels of the organization. Targeted to USNC members and constituents, this survey seeks to collect essential information about the respondent’s preferences and needs in the areas of information resources and education programs, as well as their perspective on the current availability and accessibility of such tools.

The USNC Communications Committee and the ad hoc Training and Education Task Force orchestrated the creation of this survey. Survey responses will be used to develop products and services that will advance the knowledge of, and increase participation in, global standards-setting activities that will benefit the electrotechnology industry as a whole.

“Learning more about the habits and needs of the USNC constituency is critical if we are to deliver the optimal information, products and services our members and constituents need to accomplish their goals and objectives,” said Jack Wells, chairman of the USNC Communications Committee. “This survey is the first step in a long-term initiative to advance the work of the USNC and the IEC. I encourage recipients to fully participate and share their opinions.”

Feedback is requested by the March 31, 2004 deadline.
