September ANSI Caucus to Feature CPSC Chief of Staff

On Friday, September 14, the ANSI Caucus will feature Quin Dodd, chief of staff of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Mr. Dodd has served in his current role since July 2006, when Commissioner Nancy A. Nord became acting chairman. In the year prior to that, Mr. Dodd served as legal counsel to Commissioner Nord.

For more than thirteen years, Mr. Dodd has worked in various capacities in the field of federal legislative practice and advocacy in Washington, DC. These include founder and principal of Larson Dodd Stewart and Myrick, LLC, a boutique lobbying firm focusing on health care, appropriations and homeland security issues, as well as positions as counsel in the legislative affairs practice groups of the national law firms of Bracewell & Guliani, LLP and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.

On Capitol Hill, Mr. Dodd served for five years as a senior legislative aide, then as legislative director to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), the fourth-ranking Republican in the Senate leadership. During his service with Senator Hutchison, Mr. Dodd coordinated her appropriations agenda and the substantive issues of health care, education, labor, energy, and judiciary. Prior to that Mr. Dodd worked as legislative counsel to Representative Joe Skeen (R-NM), Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture. While with Congressman Skeen, Mr. Dodd focused on appropriations strategy and projects, as well as a range of domestic policy issues.

The September Caucus event will begin at 12:00 noon with general networking; lunch will be served promptly at 12:30 pm.
