ANSI Extends Scope of RWDI's Green House Gas Verification Accreditation

Action to Benefit Several Key Sectors, Including Manufacturing

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) recently extended the scope of its accreditation of RWDI for greenhouse gas emission verification, an action which will serve several key industry sectors, including manufacturing and chemicals production. RWDI is an international consulting engineering firm that specializes in resolving air quality, noise and vibration, water, and waste issues for a wide array of industrial, commercial and government clients.

RWDI is accredited by ANSI as a provider of greenhouse gas verification services in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization's ISO 14065, Greenhouse gases - Requirements for greenhouse gas validation and verification bodies for use in accreditation or other forms of recognition The accreditation scope extension allows RWDI to conduct organization-level greenhouse gas verifications under various regulatory and voluntary programs for the following sectors:

  • General

  • Manufacturing

  • Power Generation

  • Mining and Mineral Production

  • Metals Production

  • Chemicals Production

  • Oil and Gas Extraction, Production and Refining Including Petrochemicals

  • Waste

    ANSI offers an accreditation program for organizations providing third-party validation/verification services for the reduction and removal of greenhouse gases (GHG). A member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), ANSI is the only U.S. body accrediting to ISO 14065, which represents the highest internationally accepted practices for accreditation bodies.

    The ANSI Accreditation Program for Greenhouse Gas Validation/Verification Bodies operates according to requirements defined in under ISO/IEC 17011:2004, Conformity assessment - General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies.
