Deadline for nominations is July 29, 2005

New York, Jun 29, 2005

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced the Call for Nominations for its 2005 Leadership and Service Awards.

Presented in conjunction with the ANSI Annual Conference and the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day, the awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to voluntary consensus standardization and conformity assessment programs and have consistently demonstrated a commitment to their industry, their nation, and the enhancement of the global standards system.

This year’s Call for Nominations seeks the individuals that have dedicated themselves to efforts that will strengthen American competitiveness in a global marketplace and improve the quality of life for workers and consumers around the world. According to ANSI president and CEO Mark W. Hurwitz, the ANSI annual awards program “is a long-standing tradition that recognizes outstanding achievements across the broad spectrum of industries and interest groups that comprise our nation’s standards and conformity assessment community.”

ANSI will honor the 2005 award recipients on Wednesday evening, October 5, at a banquet and ceremony to be held at the Marriott at Metro Center in downtown Washington, DC.
