People on the Move

1/25/2013
People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited standards developer (ASD) and organizational member, has named three individuals - two of them current staff members - to the position of vice president. CEA promoted Siri Tyler to vice president of finance and Karen Chupka to vice president of International CES and corporate business strategy, and hired Jim Davin as vice president of membership.

In his new position, Mr. Davin - who previously worked at Johnson & Johnson as head of retail promotions and executions for Walgreens - will oversee member recruitment, member program activities, and membership development for CEA. Ms. Tyler, who joined CEA in 2004, will provide direct oversight of CEA's accountants and other finance professionals. Ms. Chupka, who has been employed by CEA for 23 years, will continue to oversee CES as part of her new position.

CEA is a nonprofit trade organization dedicated to promoting growth in the $206 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry. The association provides legislative advocacy, market research, technical training and education, industry promotion, and standards development services to its more than 2,000 member companies and produces the annual CES event, regularly the largest tradeshow in the U.S.
