2003 ANSI Framework for Action Now Available

New York, May 02, 2003

The 2003 Framework for Action for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) documents ANSI’s plans and activities for 2003 and forms the basis for the Institute’s annual budget. The Framework for Action plots the strategic directions the Institute will take in the coming year and outlines expectations for its constituency. It also contains plans and actions that support ANSI's standardization and conformity assessment activities.

A reflection of the output of discussions held and actions taken during the past year, the document outlines key initiatives for each of the Institute’s main program areas to pursue during 2003. According to ANSI president and CEO Mark W. Hurwitz, “The programs reflected in [the Framework for Action] represent input from ANSI’s membership, its volunteer leadership and the full ANSI management team.”

In certain cases, the tactics to be implemented and deliverables to be achieved will occur within 2003, in other cases the outcomes may extend well into the future.

The complete Framework for Action is available via ANSI Online ( — click the left-hand sidebar menu for a link to the file), or download the summary document here.
