ANSI Seeks Organizations to Support International Standards Development Work on Collaborative Business Relationship Management

5/28/2014

Groups Interested in Joining or Supporting a U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO PC 286 Should Contact ANSI

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is currently seeking stakeholder organizations interested in participating in or otherwise supporting the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Project Committee (PC) 286, Collaborative business relationship management - Framework. This committee, which was created in 2013, is focused on the development of an International Standard concerning the management of collaborative business relationships.

The secretariat to ISO PC 286 is held by the British Standards Institution (BSI), the United Kingdom's member body to ISO, and the group has four other participating member nations: China, Italy, Austria, and Malaysia. The U.S. is currently one of the committee's 19 observing members, but will be unable to fully participate in the committee's work without an effective, functioning TAG.

The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP), a professional association focused on increased understanding and effective use of alliance management tools, processes, and best practices has indicated its intent to partner with ANSI to oversee the proposed U.S. TAG. Establishment of the TAG requires the participation and financial support of additional organizations and sponsors to move forward. Participation in the U.S. TAG to ISO PC 286 carries with it significant benefits for participating organizations, including involvement in the development of the official U.S. position for a standard on collaborative business relationship management and opportunities to collaborate with international stakeholders representing other participating ISO member nations.

For more information or to express interest in joining or supporting the U.S. TAG to ISO PC 286, please email ANSI at [email protected], by July 15, 2014.
