ANSI Publishes New Antitrust Policy and Revised Code of Ethics for Institute's Members and Volunteers

12/10/2013
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) announced today the publication of a new Antitrust Policy and a revised Code of Ethics for volunteers and members to follow when acting on behalf of the Institute.

Developed with input from ANSI members and originally approved by the Board of Directors in December 2006, the revised Code of Ethics was approved at the December 4, 2013, Board meeting. It is aligned with the Institute's Constitution and Bylaws and supplements existing policies and best practices. It complements, but does not replace, conflict-of-interest policies currently in place for many of the Institute's policy and program oversight committees. The new Antitrust Policy was also approved at the year-end Board of Directors meeting.

"These documents represent a public statement of ANSI's commitment to integrity and excellence in carrying out our mission," explained S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. According to Patricia Griffin, ANSI vice president and general counsel, the new antitrust policy and modified Code of Ethics are meant to reflect ANSI's continued adherence to relevant competition laws.

The ANSI Antitrust Policy and the ANSI Code of Ethics can be found in the "Structure and Management" section of the "About ANSI" pages of ANSI Online.
