The Energy Factor: May ANSI Caucus to Provide a Legislative Update on Energy Issues

On Friday, May 2, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Caucus will feature speaker Dr. Kathryn Clay, Professional Staff Member (Republican) of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Dr. Clay’s presentation will feature a legislative update on the topic of energy. With both technical and public policy experience in energy issues, she has the knowledge and insight to provide an enlightening presentation to caucus attendees.

Her current responsibilities in the 110th Congress deal with climate change, biofuels, and transportation energy use. Additionally, she developed and drafted numerous provisions included in the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 2005 and the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2008.

Prior to working with the Energy Committee, Dr. Clay served on the Energy Subcommittee of the House Science Committee. She has also worked with the Division of Energy Resources of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Center of Ford Motor Company.

The May caucus is sponsored by the International Code Council (ICC). An ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer, ICC is dedicated to building safety and fire prevention through the development of codes used in construction of residential and commercial buildings.
