EPA Launches New Energy Management Resource
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that its ENERGY STAR program has released a guidebook providing information on how to maximize energy savings for companies and facilities of all sizes. The new resource, Energy Treasure Hunt Guide: Simple Steps to Finding Energy Savings, is expected to help organizations introduce improved energy management practices, build internal support for energy savings efforts, and improve the work of site energy teams, among other benefits.
The Energy Treasure Hunts offer an effective, flexible approach to identifying and taking advantage of readily available opportunities for energy savings, whether in a given facility or on an organization-wide basis. The guide makes use of lessons learned by an array of companies and organizations carrying out Energy Treasure Hunts, developing a series of best practices designed to maximize the benefits.

NYU-ePoly Offering Graduate Online Learning Webinar in April
The New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering (NYU-Poly) is offering a webinar designed to provide prospective students with information about the school's online master's degree programs in engineering. The NYU-ePoly Graduate Online Learning Webinar will be held on the following two dates: Thursday, April 3, at 1:00 p.m., and Tuesday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m. NYU-ePoly, the online learning initiative of NYU-Poly, provides a variety of online master's degrees and advance certificates, with courses available in computer engineering, manufacturing engineering, and other specialties.
In accordance with its partnership with NYU-Poly, ANSI full members are eligible to receive a tuition rebate of 10% following the successful completion of an online course and individuals who take part in one of the graduate online learning webinars can received a graduate application fee waiver that can be used to apply to any of NYU-ePoly's online master's degree or certificate programs. FEMP to Host Free Training Session on Federal Building Energy Efficiency Standards
The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) will hold a training session focused on federal building energy efficiency standards from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014. The session, New Developments in Federal Building Energy Efficiency Standards, will provide participants with guidance on how to determine which standards apply to which types of federal buildings, among other topics. The course will be overseen by Mark Halverson, an engineer at the Pacific Northwest National Lab.

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators Applies to Become ANSI-Accredited Standards Developer
ANSI organizational member the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) has submitted an application to become an ANSI-accredited standards developer, and has submitted proposed operating procedures overseeing the documenting of consensus on proposed NASBLA-sponsored American National Standards. NASBLA's proposed scope is focused on the development of standards for recreational boaters, marine law enforcement officers, and emergency responders.
