Another highlight of the ISO GA was the appointment of Mr. Bhatia as a member and foreign adviser to the China Standardization Expert Committee (CSEC). The Committee held a certificate ceremony and luncheon for the foreign advisers on September 12 in Beijing.

In conclusion of the event, Minister Zhi Shuping, minister of China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), presented each advisor with a certificate of appointment.

CSEC is an expert advisory organization that advises SAC on national standards strategy, policy, major reform, and innovative measures for standardization, key projects in science and technology, and publication and implementation of standards. The organization was jointly established by AQSIQ and SAC in 2006.
