People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.

The American Bankers Association (ABA), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has appointed Kirtan Mehta as its senior vice president for congressional relations. In this role, Mr. Mehta will oversee the association's lobbying efforts with the Senate Democratic Caucus, including Senate Leadership and Banking Committee members.

Prior to joining ABA, Mr. Mehta was legislative director and chief counsel for Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-West Va.). He has also served as principal banking and housing advisor to Sen. Manchin while he was on the Senate Banking Committee. Before working on Capitol Hill, Mr. Mehta was an associate at Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, specializing in white collar defense and commercial litigation, and at Winston & Strawn LLP, where he practiced in antitrust, class action, and patent litigation.
