Final Program Announced for Second ISO Networking Conference

Information, marketing, public relations and training mangers to convene in Canada

New York, Mar 27, 2003

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released today its final program for the Second ISO Networking Conference to be held in Ottawa, Canada on May 15-16, 2003.

The event, which is organized around the theme "Networking in a new information and communication environment," will be hosted by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and is targeted to the information, marketing, public relations and training professionals within the standardization community

Recognizing that the design, development and maintenance of new IT and communications systems has raised numerous questions, the discussions will focus on topics such as:

  • which equipment and software to choose,
  • how to structure information,
  • which search mechanism to apply,
  • which information to provide free of charge and which to charge,
  • how to price,
  • which method of delivery to choose,
  • how to organize payment and protection from unauthorized use,
  • and more

Bob Feghali, ANSI vice-president and chief information officer, will participate in a discussion of “Standards for free or fee in the web age?” Bill Kelly, chairman of the ANSI ad hoc group on standards and education, will deliver a presentation on Internet-based training titled, “E-learning: Learning at your own pace in your own space.”
