People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

NACE International (NACE), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced two changes to its leadership team.

Cynthia O'Malley has been named executive director of the Master Painters Institute (MPI). MPI is a paint performance certification organization acquired by the NACE International Institute, an affiliate of NACE focused on certification activities. In this role, Ms. O'Malley will lead MPI's business development, and work to meet global and industrial market needs, build relationships with specifiers and paint manufacturers, and upgrade testing/standards and training in key product areas.

Prior to joining the NACE Institute, Ms. O'Malley was vice president, professional services group manager for industry leader KTA-Tator. She has also held core leadership roles for NACE and SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings.

"After bringing MPI under the umbrella of the NACE Institute in 2017 we experienced growing demand for the organization's expertise from both the commercial and industrial paint markets," said Helena Seelinger, NACE International Institute executive director. "We needed someone with an established track record for business leadership and a strong grasp of the coatings industry - we found that and more in Cynthia."

Eliina Lizarraga was named NACE's group publisher. She will lead the business operations of editorial creation, production, and delivery for the organization's full range of industry publications. These include CoatingsPro Magazine, CORROSION Journal, NACE Industry Newsletters, and other digital and print publications.

Ms. Lizarraga joined NACE in 2004 as managing editor and production manager for the organization's CoatingsPro Magazine. In 2016, she assumed the role of associate publisher.

"Eliina is uniquely qualified to oversee the entire suite of NACE publications," said Melissa Mishler, NACE chief customer experience officer. "She has consistently demonstrated an ability to drive operational innovation and the development of high quality content. We know she will continue to seek and implement the most effective and efficient production and delivery mechanisms to meet the changing needs of our readers and advertisers."
