ANSI Revises a Holiday Standard: The 12 Days of Christmas 2014

On the first day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the second day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the third day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
six geese-a-living,
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
seven rules for swimming,
six geese-a-living,
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
eight machines for milking,
seven rules for swimming,
six geese-a-living,
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
nine ladies’ dance shoes,
eight machines for milking,
seven rules for swimming,

On the tenth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
ten kids-a-leaping,
nine ladies’ dance shoes,

six geese-a-living,
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree.

On the eleventh day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
eleven lines of piping,
ten kids-a-leaping,
nine ladies’ dance shoes,

six geese-a-living,
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
standards gave to me
twelve hummers humming,
eleven lines of piping,
ten kids-a-leaping,
nine ladies’ dance shoes,
eight machines for milking,
seven rules for swimming,
six geese-a-living,
five ice-free wings,
four harmless birds,
three ball-point pens,
two rubber gloves,
and a guide to the fire safety tree!
