Call for Nominations for ANSI Certificate Accreditation Program Accreditation Committee (CAPAC)

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites nominations from interested persons to serve on the Institute's Certificate Accreditation Program Accreditation Committee (CAPAC). Nominations must be received by November 26, 2018, and are for three-year terms beginning January 1, 2019.

The nominations committee of the CAPAC seeks national experts in the fields of certificate programs in private industry, higher education, government, training, instructional design, and assessment.

Specific duties of committee membership include:



  • Determining the accreditation status of certificate issuers that have applied for initial accreditation or are undergoing their annual surveillance accreditation process, and;

  • Providing input to ANSI staff regarding operational issues


ANSI's Certificate Accreditation Program verifies a certificate issuer's compliance with requirements outlined in the American National Standard (ANS) ASTM E2659, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs. In conducting its accreditation activities, ANSI follows the International Standard ISO/IEC 17011:2017, Conformity assessment -- General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies.
