ANSI and the China Quality Certification Centre Host Two Events on Chinese Certification Programs

10/04/2011
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) was pleased to partner in September with the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) on two events geared toward helping companies better understand certification requirements for products in China. CQC is one of the largest designated certification bodies authorized by the Chinese government to perform certification for China Compulsory Certification (CCC) and other government programs.

ANSI Manufacturer Member Roundtable Briefing
The first event, a briefing held for the ANSI Manufacturer Member Roundtable on September 6 in Beijing, included presentations from CQC experts on certification programs related to government procurement and incentive programs. Specific subject areas included energy and water savings certification, photovoltaic product certification, and low carbon certification programs. A report of the September 6 meeting is available to ANSI members here.

ANSI/CQC Seminar on CCC Requirements
In addition, ANSI welcomed experts and officials from CQC and the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) in New York on September 27 for a training seminar on updates to the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) regime. [See related news item] Sponsored by Intertek, the seminar included presentations on CCC requirements for electric equipment (including information technology, audiovisual and telecommunications) and motor vehicle components. The full agenda for the seminar, including the presentations delivered, is available here.
