Registration Open and Agenda Available: ANSI, DIN, and DKE to Co-host U.S.-German Standards Panel 2018 on Cybersecurity, Future Technologies

Registration is open for the U.S.-German Standards Panel 2018. Co-hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), and the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE (DKE), the standards panel event will be focused on securing future technologies, cybersecurity, and other challenges and solutions for smart manufacturing, mobility, and agriculture on April 10-11 in Washington, DC.

ANSI encourages relevant stakeholders to register online by COB March 21, 2018. A working DRAFT agenda is available on ANSI's Sharepoint for reference with more information. Please note that ANSI is still seeking speakers, moderators and sponsorship for the upcoming event. The digitization of products, processes, and systems, as well as the creation of innovative and new businesses, are moving at high speeds. As industries undergo digital transformation on both sides of the Atlantic, opportunities to advance competitiveness and international trade abound.

At the same time, with increasing digitization there are growing threats to infrastructure of industry. With cybercrime on the rise, cybersecurity remains a critical priority for the success of the digital economy.

Standards and conformance can provide the highest possible level of transparency, coherence, and information for business partners and customers. As cybersecurity becomes a joint task for a variety of stakeholders including policy makers, industry, manufacturers, and users, national activities in regulation, standardardizaton, and conformity assessment add an additional level of complexity.

The U.S.-German Standards Panel 2018, to take place at FHI 360 Conference Center (1825 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC), will take a closer look at these dynamics in the U.S. and Europe.

The April 10 session will be 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The April 11 session will be 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

Panel discussions will focus on issues related to cybersecurity and privacy, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, smart contracts, with discussions in the following key topic areas:

- Smart Manufacturing

- Smart Mobility

- Smart Agriculture

Attendees will broaden their networks, and identify common views for increased U.S.-German cooperation on dedicated standards activities. The U.S.-German Standards Panel is relevant to CTOs, CIOs, and CSOs of companies, associations, and standards development organizations with a transatlantic business scope.
