Additional Online Resource Available for Tracking USSS Implementation Efforts

New York, Apr 17, 2006

In support of the launch of a tracking system to record actions taken on the implementation of strategies and tactics in the United States Standards Strategy (USSS), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has provided a new resource to encourage entry of relevant data into the tracking survey.

Available now online (www.ansi.org/usss), a table of USSS Implementation Assignments summarizes actions to be taken by different stakeholder groups and organizes content from the Strategy into a format that can be sorted by constituency, strategy and tactic. The document is meant to assist various stakeholder groups in aligning their activities with the various elements of the USSS and better facilitate entries into the tracking survey.

Since April 5, the tracking surveys have been collecting information from organizations that have endorsed or otherwise supported the strategic objectives of the USSS. If your organization is near completion or has recently completed activities that demonstrate implementation of the USSS, please visit the survey page and provide a summary and short description of the actions taken.

ANSI will collate data posted to the tracking system and present an implementation report during the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day 2006 in Washington, DC; the report is intended to continue annually thereafter. Progress on implementation will be measured over time and the USSS will be revisited and reevaluated accordingly.
