Lawrence D. Eicher Award 2005 – Call for Nominations

New York, Mar 04, 2005

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has issued a call for nominations for the 2005 Lawrence D. Eicher Leadership Award for Excellence in Creative and Innovative ISO/TC/SC Services and Initiatives. Nominations must be received by April 30, 2005.

The ISO Council created the award in 2002 as a tribute to the late secretary general. Dr. Eicher, who passed away in March 2002, served for more than 15 years in that post; he was also a former staff member of the National Bureau of Standards (now the National Institute of Standards and Technology).

The award recognizes ISO Technical Committees (TCs) and Subcommittees (SCs) (including all those involved: chairs, secretaries, member bodies, delegates and experts) for excellence in creative and innovative services and initiatives to support their work and their constituents. This award is presented to the committee as a whole and provides an opportunity to publicize and share best practices among ISO committees.

Nominations will be reviewed by the relevant Technical Program Manager of the ISO Central Secretariat, and then by a sub-group of the Technical Management Board that will select the successful candidate.

To nominate a specific committee, please submit your nomination to Michael A. Smith (smith@iso.org), senior advisor, Technical Policy Standards Department, using the template provided(additional information may be attached if necessary) by April 30, 2005.
