Cybersecurity, Innovation and the Internet Economy recommends consideration of a new framework for addressing Internet security issues for companies that increasingly rely on the Web to do business, but are outside the orbit of the critical infrastructure sector.
The report follows a series of Internet security policy recommendations made by the Obama Administration. In April, the Administration released the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, which seeks to better protect consumers from fraud and identity theft. [see related news item]
Comments received in response to the report will help inform the Internet Policy Task Force as it considers the development of an action plan in this area. Comments should be sent before midnight on August 1 to [email protected], with the subject line "Comment of Cybersecurity Green Paper."
