People on the Move

People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has appointed John R. Stoiber as its new president.

Mr. Stoiber will lead WDMA's efforts to expand its reach and provide high-quality services to its members and the industry.

Besides having founded and served as the CEO of six companies, he spent seven years with Johnson Controls in product and sales engineering roles with a focus on building and construction solutions related to energy efficiency, life safety, security and fire protection.

Mr. Stoiber holds two BS degrees and a master’s degree in engineering from Marquette University. He also holds a master’s degree in strategy and finance from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg School of Management.


NSF International, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has named Elizabeth A. Jones vice president of marketing.

In her new role, Ms. Jones will oversee the organization’s corporate marketing and branding, communications and regulatory affairs. She will also expand multi-channel marketing for both business and consumer markets.

Ms. Jones spent the past nine years as the vice president of communications for Quicken Loans Inc., and for Rock Venture. In her former assignments she was vice president of college relations and institutional marketing at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. She also served as senior public relations administrator for Alticor.

Ms. Jones retired from the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve with the rank of Captain (O-6) in March 2008, after twenty-three years of service. Most recently she worked for the Press Operations Directorate in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Among various assignments, she served as a national vice president of the Naval Reserve Association.

Ms. Jones received her master’s degree in business administration from New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH, and her BA in marketing and management from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN.


The U.S. Green Building Council, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, recently announced the appointment of Dr. Christopher Pyke as research director.

With a strong background of leadership in green building research, Dr. Pyke will lead USGBC’s research team while contributing to the ongoing development of the LEED green building certification program. He will also support USGBC’s work with the Clinton Climate Initiative’s Climate Positive Development Program.

Formerly the national director of climate change services for CTG Energetics, he holds a Ph.D. in geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
